I’m Rev. Alaric Hutchinson — a writer, psychospiritual teacher, peace-builder, and founder of Alaric’s Abbey. My work centers on helping people understand the patterns beneath their suffering, quiet the inner war, and practice living with greater peace, compassion, and self-mastery.
Through my books, teachings, and work at the Abbey, I offer a grounded path for those seeking not only insight, but a more peaceful way of life.
My Story
My life’s work has centered on one enduring question: how do we transform suffering into peace? That question first drew me into Eastern philosophy, contemplative practice, spiritual care, and the study of human transformation. Over time, it became the foundation of my books, teachings, ministry, coaching, and community work.
In my early twenties, I was ordained as an interfaith minister and served for nearly eight years as pastor of Earth Spirit Center for Healing. Since then, my path has woven together transformational psychology, social work, peace-building, youth support, civic leadership, and spiritual formation. Along the way, I developed Living Peace — a body of teachings and practices designed to help people quiet the inner war, cultivate self-mastery, and live with greater compassion, clarity, and presence.
Alaric’s Abbey is the living home of that work: a sanctuary for those seeking a deeper way to heal, grow, reflect, and practice peace. My work exists alongside therapy, not against it. It offers a different kind of container — one rooted in spiritual care, contemplative practice, personal responsibility, and the daily discipline of living peace.
